Summer of Hoops

CIA will kick off their ‘Summer of HOOPS’ in May 2010 with the return of the popular ‘Family Festival’ before hosting several training camps as they launch HOOPS, a brand new training academy focusing on the grassroots development of young players aged between 5-16.

This year’s Family Festival will be presented in a brand new format, replacing the slam dunk contest with a Women’s All Star Game. The main event is an exhibition game between some of the best players in the country past and present with a team of Old School Legends taking on the new generation New School. Over the years the Family Festival has featured Great Britain and England Internationals and BBL professionals such as Mike Martin, Ronnie Baker, Peter Scantlebury MBE, Junior Williams, Julius Joseph, Michael Hayles and more and attracted celebrity guests such as Five TV’s Andre Alleyne and Dragon’s Den contestant Levi Roots. Fans will be able follow the two teams via a series of viral adverts.

HOOPS initial roll out will take place in the Sutton and Merton boroughs and CIA will start by running a camp for young players at Sutton Arena, with 4 days a week of coaching and competitions. Only 80 places are available on a first come first serve basis and you’ll be able to book online at www.ciabasketball.com/hoops.
