5 WINS IN 5 GAMES PUT CIA IN FIFTH

CIA's journey this season has been one of highs and lows. The season started with a series of injuries to key players that would force others to change their roles to keep the team moving forward. CIA struggled in the league, though they found their form in the Cup competition going all the way to the Quarter Finals.

But, with the addition of Jamie Whittaker, Dennis Paddyfoot, Gene Brown and Chi Lewis-Parry CIA had the inside presence they needed. As expected in a season such as the one CIA have had to endure, an incident in game 13 would sideline Whittaker and Paddyfoot for the remainder of the season but the team rallied and with Chi Lewis-Parry on top form, CIA pulled off a series of incredible performances.

CIA started their comeback trail in March as they dismantled fierce rivals Omega 79-61 behind Carl 'Truth' Routledge's three point shooting. Next they shocked Wandsworth Lions soaring to a 66-48 win before edging out Westminster Warriors 82-75.

Hoxton Heat were next as CIA fought for a 67-53 win and finally the hardest fought game of the season, coming back from an incredible 23 point deficit in the third quarter to walk away victorious 70-68 after phenomenal shooting from Routledge and a block from point quard Luke Bowler to seal the game.

Hackney Community College failed to rearrange their fixture with CIA so CIA notched up another win.

From winning just 3 out of 12 games to open the season to a top five finish is something to be proud of for a team never willing to give up.

CIA now look forward to next season and rumours are rife that the squad has already been bolstered with a number of key players that could put CIA back at the top of the table. The team also plan to play in the prestigious Founders Cup competition that will see them compete in far more games. Stay tuned for more updates on the latest signings.
